UK inspection windows and the version lock habit
Inspection calendars in the United Kingdom rarely pause the business. Version locks exist so reviewers can say “this is the pack we stood behind on Tuesday” without claiming the organisation froze.
Lock the pack, label the deltas
A clean habit: freeze the folder or export used for the window, then keep a short delta log for material changes that arrive afterward. The log is not a second pack; it is a bridge for honest conversation if something critical changes mid-review.
Name the freeze owner
Someone must decide what enters the locked set. Committees dilute that decision. Assign a freeze owner with a deputy, publish the cut-off time in UK local time, and refuse last-minute “just this one PDF” additions unless the freeze owner accepts the re-export.
Redaction timing
Locking before redaction review creates churn. Locking after endless redaction debate creates missed windows. Sequence it: content complete → counsel or privacy pass → lock → share. Your compliance evidence review app may not enforce that order; your runbook should.
